Village Church Memphis
COVID-19 Update
Last Updated August 23rd, 2021

It was with great anticipation that we planned our restart of regular activities in September.  However, due to the number of church family members being diagnosed with COVID as well as the overall increase in cases in Shelby County, it is in the best interest and wellbeing of our church family that we delay our restart until a time that is socially safer. We will continue to have in-person worship on Sunday mornings at 10:30.  We are asking everyone to mask up while indoors on campus and to maintain six foot social distancing.

I also want to thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.  The decisions that have been made have not been easy ones, but ones made with you in mind.  Let me encourage you to continue to be faithful in your personal time of Bible study and prayer.  During weak times in life, our strength comes from the Lord. Isaiah 41:10 (NASB) 10  'Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'  That verse gives me the assurance that I am never alone. God is always with me. The Creator of everything stands by and with His greatest creation; YOU!

S.F.T.   SEE FEEL TRUST    May you SEE the face of God. May you FEEL His presence and may you TRUST His love.

Pastor Rick

June 28th, 2021 UPDATE

Beginning in July, the wearing of a facial mask while on campus will be optional.  For those with poor immune systems or health concerns, it may be wise to continue wearing a mask out of precaution.  We ask that you use wisdom while interacting with others, not all in attendance have been vaccinated.  We also ask that you respect each other’s personal space, which is always a good practice regardless of a pandemic.   In August, we plan to adjust our worship seating back to its original arrangement and then in September restart Sunday School and other ministries within our church family.

Thank you all for your cooperation through these difficult days. We will continue to heed the advice from the Shelby County Health Department, Memphis leadership and the CDC, as well as continue to monitor the situation as it affects our church family.

Thank you again and have a great week!

December 28th, 2020 Update

Village Church Family,

Due to the possibility of increased transmission of COVID-19, we will only have virtual worship/no in-person activities on Sunday January 3rd.  This decision is made with the safety and well being of all who attend worship on our campus.  It also falls in alignment with Governor Lee's latest executive "Stay at Home" order.  A sermon by Pastor Rick will be available on-line beginning at 10:30 Sunday morning January 3rd.  We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed.

Be safe and have a Happy New Year,

December 9th, 2020 Update

Village Church Family,

Because of the increased chance of COVID-19 transmission over the Christmas holidays, a decision has been made to not have our Christmas Eve Service and only have virtual worship / no in-person activities on Sunday December 27.  A sermon by Pastor Rick will be available on-line beginning at 10:30 Sunday morning December 27.   In-person worship will resume on Sunday January 3.  As decisions like this are made, our priority continues to be the health and safety of all those who gather on our campus.  As you may be aware, health officials nationally and locally are warning of increased cases due to social interaction over the Christmas holidays, so we encourage you to use discernment and caution as you celebrate Christmas with others.  We also encourage you that as you celebrate Christmas, reflect on the true reason why Jesus came into this world – to die on the cross to save us from our sins.

John 3:16 (KJV)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Be safe and Merry Christmas,

TVBC Church Leadership

May  1st, 2020 Update

In a continued response to the City of Memphis’s "Safer at Home" directive through May 4th, 2020, there will be no services or campus activities on Sunday, May 3rd or Wednesday, May 6th.  As we continue to monitor the effects of COVID-19 within our community, a decision will be made by church staff and leadership early next week regarding a plan to phase in worship services over the coming weeks.  Our hope and prayer is that God will lead us with clear and safe procedures that enable us to once again worship corporately as a church family.  In the meantime, please continue to maintain the suggested social distancing guidelines, taking precautions to keep yourself and others healthy.

Keep the Faith,

TVBC Leadership

April 1st, 2020 Update

Church Family

We hope you are doing well and exercising caution during this time of social distancing. We were hopeful that after following the guidelines set forth by our nation’s leaders that we would now be able to return to some kind of normalcy. However, the spread of the COVID-19 virus continues to increase and our City, State and National leaders, along with the CDC have asked us to continue to exercise the “Safer at Home” directives and social distancing guidelines. With that in mind, we will continue to keep all activities canceled at our facility through what is now being requested – April 30th.

Church personnel are temporarily working from home and keeping flexible office hours. If you need assistance, contact the church office at 388-2061 or email pam@trafalgarvillage.org. Phone messages and emails are checked daily.

We will continue to provide opportunities to worship online with Video Messages from Pastor Rick each Sunday.  Using the same password, you will be able to Log-In after 10:30 on Sunday mornings.  In addition, Sunday Bible Study is available.  This curriculum follows your usual weekly lesson books.

Links for all website accessible information as well as “Ways to Give” are on the home page of our

website. (www.villagechurchmemphis.com).

Even though we won’t be physically together on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, what truly binds us

together is our relationship with the Lord. So let us each draw closer to Jesus and allow His presence

fill our void.  May we use this time to focus on our personal worship of Him and not our personal

preferences. May we be mindful of what truly makes us the church and that is, our relationship to Jesus.

May God’s blessings be yours,

TVBC Leadership

March 16th 2020 Update

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 Virus, our Village Church leadership is making proactive decisions to protect our membership and limit any unnecessary exposure during this time of uncertainty.

We are strongly encouraging our members to remain friendly, while exercising caution not to shake hands or give friendly hugs.  We have installed additional hand sanitizing stations in several convenient locations around our campus.  Between service dates, we are taking extra measures to sanitize high volume areas where our members are at a higher risk for exposure.  If you feel ill, it is okay for you to stay at home and it would be wise to contact your doctor.

As much as possible, we will try to maintain normal office hours, however in the event you need to come by, please call ahead to be sure someone is in office. (901) 388-2061.

We will continue to monitor information as it becomes available and provide further updates as the needs require.  Please check our website daily.
